The Toast

To Him and Her
21-10-2013

To the school I haven’t attended
And the playground I have seen from far away,

To the song that hasn’t been written yet,
About dancing and love.

To the soft sea waves,
That I haven’t swum in,

To Her, To Him

To Me

The rocking chair

3-10-2013

When your grandma used to sit on it,
Singing the wounded bird's song,
Who lost its parents but found love.

Your dad sat on it,
Reading his favourite morning paper
And napping on it in the afternoon.

You sit on it,
It rocks back and forth,
You sigh several times,
Then turn off the lights

The main theme

21-9-2013

It's beautiful, the scenery of dead flowers,
He left it in the copper vase to wither
And took a picture of it.

When the sky mixed itself with colours,
He looked out for the passing man,
Asked him: can I have some candy?
Answered: you have had enough already.

What disturbs you in bed,
Are the late night talks.
Words are long gone,
But the echo still remains

The return to the beginning

14-09-2013

At the station,
The lovers met
Somewhere in time,
After the train has stopped.

They stood still for several seconds
Under the light pole
To make sure of each other's features.
And when the breeze slapped their faces,
He held her hands,
And they walked away.

Some see a butterfly and smile
Some see a butterfly and think it’s a moth

And in the end, the butterfly lives for a week

Harvest of sorrow

14-08-2013

The dance has ended,
Dancers stood claiming the success,
And with the public's applaud,
They remembered how their dances turned bitter,
Like the dancing of the dead
Awaiting their fate as the injured deer,

Their silence in claiming success,
Doesn’t entail their quietness
What they wished at the beginning
Will become what they want at the end

In the night they dance

14-05-2013

A ghost of someone, from a time not long gone by.
She stood in front of the mirror,
When she saw herself, she put the make-up on,
To adorn herself for his meeting.

She lost track if time,
While it passes.

Still remembering her first gift,
The crayons,
And the green plastic table.

She continued putting her make-up on
As stars rise at night!

Elegy

10-05-2013

Like a vinyl record
Gilels playing October piece for Tchaikovsky
To reach perfection
Yet with a man's voice in the hall coughing.

Having fun with her big round belly
Reciting a sentimental story
About her child that hasn’t been born yet.

With his elegant mustache
Walking with a snobbery smile
After being stripped from everything he wears.

When their time has come,
The animals lie down on their side
And close their eyes.
